Happy Summer, Sierra Chapter friends!
I hope you enjoyed our young professionals panel event in May. It was another great event with a terrific turn out.
A big shout out to Scott Lillibridge (RICK) for moderating; and thank you to our panelists, Sarah McIlroy (Stantec), Darren Ertis (City of Roseville), Sean Jackson (Jackson & Sands), and Tracey Eden (HDR).
Let the Summer Begin
This June, the Sierra Chapter is excited to present two new events! First, don’t miss our joint event with the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Sacramento Post on June 18, when we tour the Sacramento Weir Widening Project.
Transportation and lunch are provided as part of the USACE, HDR and Granite Construction led tour. Follow this link for registration information and to view the tour schedule.

Next, on June 26, we will host our Summer Social & Scholarship Fundraiser. This fun, social occasion provides guests with an opportunity to support the Tim Fleming Memorial Scholarship Fund and celebrate as we pass the presidential gavel to Lincoln Leaman and introduce new board members for the 2025-26 year.
Registration ends June 16, 2025.

Thank you to our table sponsors for your generous contribution.
This is my last month as the Sierra Chapter President. It has been a wonderful year of getting to meet new people, connect with agencies, association partners and students, and work closely with our board of directors.
I have enjoyed this opportunity immensely, and I’ll say that I truly believe in the ACEC mission. This organization (local, state, national) works hard on behalf of its members, and it is evident as you spend time with its staff and volunteers. Please get involved and encourage others to do so.
As always, I appreciate your support. Have a great summer!
Sincerely,
~ Donald Blackburn
