As we kick off a new year of ACEC Sierra Chapter activities, I want to begin by extending a hearty thank you to Donald Blackburn for his leadership as our 2024/25 president.

Donald has provided tremendous value to our chapter over the years, and he continued that legacy as our President. Donald now serves on the chapter’s board as our past president and champion for our annual Top Golf PAC fundraiser.
I also want to thank our events chair and new board member, Kayla Miller, for putting together a great Summer Social at Piatti’s in the Pavilions.

We had a terrific time celebrating Donald’s presidency, passing the gavel, and raising money for the Tim Flemming Scholarship. We also welcomed Elizabeth Schlegel and Robert Paderna to the board, where Robert will serve as the current secretary/treasurer.
September Event
As your incoming president, I look forward to building on Donald’s success, working with our board to deliver interesting and meaningful events, and increase support for the various scholarship programs in which the chapter participate.
The initial event of the 2025-26 term is a dinner meeting on September 24, where Chief Engineer Stephen White, County of Sacramento DOT, is our guest speaker. Register before the September 17 deadline.

Seeking Volunteers
The chapter is seeking volunteers to join our committee for Events and Young Members. If your firm is an ACEC Sierra Chapter Member, you’re a member too! If you or someone you know is interested in participating in one of our committees, please contact stephaniecrary@ACEC-ca-sierrachapter.com.
I look forward to connecting with you during our many great events throughout the year!
