February’s ACEC CA Annual Conference and Engineering Excellence Awards Gala was a fabulous event! on 18th & 19th at the Disneyland Hotel. Your Sierra Chapter was well represented at the State Board Meeting by me and our Past Presidents Donald Blackburn, Erik Fanselau, and Tom Sell.

Member Firms Atlas, TRC, Kennedy Jenks, and KSN received awards at the Gala. The Sierra Chapter is also proud to have produced the current President, Jason Matson, and President Elect, Kevin Gustorf.

Engineer's Week

In recognition of Engineer’s Week, I saw many great ways to celebrate Engineers week on LinkedIn.

At TRC Sacramento, we contemplated having an egg drop from the roof but couldn’t get everybody through fall protection class in time. Instead, we celebrate our awesome team by having the leadership serve staff breakfast and play some fun nerd games!

Our March 19 joint dinner meeting with Calmentor North Region is sold out. Mark your calendar for next year's event, March 17, 2027.

On April 22, we will host our Annual YP Forum & Luncheon. You are encouraged to bring young professionals to the event and hear our panel of experienced professionals discuss managing projects, lead teams, and navigating career advancement. Registration is now open.

ACEC California is proud to continue the tradition and are excited to welcome our member firms back for another in-person Legislative Visit Day!

On Wednesday, May 20, California Engineers and Land Surveyors will gather in Sacramento to advocate for infrastructure, our sponsored legislation, and other industry issues with state legislators. The day will conclude with an evening Legislative Reception, providing further opportunities to connect and engage with Legislators, Legislative staff, State Agency officials, and many more.
